The left foot shows the old tattoo, the right foot shows the result after a simple renovation.
Sometimes things can go wrong wether it be due to having the wrong design or the wrong Tattooist. Perhaps it was made while under the influence ( a common occurance sadly) or a friend was allowed to "practice" on your skin? Maybe it even was a so called "professional" who refuses to take responsibility for his studio interns mistakes or even worse for his own?
If the result is done in heavy black pigment, it is difficult to create ´something to cover it as black is dominant and will shine through sooner or later. If you are lucky the tattoo you have might lend itself to a Tribal of some sort or may be incorporated into another design. On this page you have a few examples of "renovations" I have done of tattooes that have really gone wrong. It takes time and should not be left to the unknowledgeable. The other alternative available is Laser treatment. This process of removing tattooes is very painful and can leave a scar, but sometimes it's the best option.

A woman came to me with a name tattooed on her back that she desperately wanted to have removed in some way. I decided to enhance the existing tattoo with more wild roses using them to cover up the unwanted name. The new colours fades a bit when healed and will then harmonize with the old tattoo. The result you can see below. Can you find where the name stood?

If you compare the pictures before and after you can see that I removed the "bump" upon the head of the wizard, lowered his right arm so it didn't stick out of his neck anymore, elongated the whole figure as it looked like a dwarf, redsigned the "piece of pastery" he was standing on. I also took away the "clouds", tattooed fingers instead of "blobs", straightened out his cane, redrew the entire robe with folds, gave the dragon a more detailed look and then coloured the tattoo for hours.
Renovations take time (30hrs)...

Here's an example of a guy that let his friends"paint" on his skin with homemade tattoo machines. His whole arms where coveres in lines and the part I covered over with this, by him chosen, demon was just a fraction of what would have to be done...
